Olympics

I watch as the Opening Ceremony is starting to come to it's end. China has just marched in, led by Yao Ming. Along with a very cute little boy that survived the disaster that befell China not to long ago. The little cutie saved two of his classmates during the horrid event. Really brave for a nine year old. ^_^

I've really been enjoying the ceremony all this time. Oh my gosh the drums in the beginning with the 2008 guys was just amazing. The lights and effects. Fabulous! I really love the dresses the women leading the countries in are wearing. So pretty and it's red and gold! The show also reminded us of the beautiful culture of China. But in general, to me the whole purpose of the Olympics is to forget your petty fights and differences and just come together and compete. You meet and greet people from affair and just enjoy it all.

The clothes of so many countries have stood and caught my eye. Not to mention trying to figure out where several of them come from. X_X Brother, I think they just made up a few of these. But three hours in we see our president sitting up in the special box, looking bored and checking his watch. On camera of all things! I pray that people do not judge us on him alone. I mean geez, you don't do such things in public. It makes it seem like you aren't interested in all this hard work they did for the show. Now to mention it is very rude and shows you lack class. ~_^

Ah, now they are raising the Olympic flag and playing the anthem. I guess the flame is soon to come. The flame that has been through so much and protected by many from protesters. Yes, the flame has arrived now.

This should be an interesting time to watch. Though it may seem odd my teams I'm rooting for, so I'll just leave you in suspense. @_@ Though two of them should seem obvious. But good luck to all countries playing nonetheless.

Life has been hectic as I've had surgery and had to move...again and God knows what else. I've been thinking about a lot of random things. Of course being influenced by random movies and such that I had seen during my quest to pack up my life yet again and what not.

This is my favorite line throughout the Die Hard franchise. I remember being sad during the third one because I was almost to the end and he hadn’t said it. But he delivered. Course, when the bad guy tried saying it. It didn’t have any appeal whatsoever.

It was very odd coming across this picture of Gackt. Leg extended in the air while on the computer. That’s my usual routine, but when reading or writing. It feels like I’m being style stalked…scary… ^_~ Kidding.

Vincent Price

One of the most legendary actors ever and not just sticking to horror that he was so well known for. He did westerns to comic hours. He smooth and velvet like voice could easily be recognized wherever. Not to mention a certain… sex appeal? I mean, it’s not like he’s hard on the eyes or anything. Like so many of my other actors, it was love at first site as a child. Not too hard since he did Scooby Doo and the 13 Ghosts. But I believe my first film of him was House of Wax. It was the night before my first day of 3rd or 4th grade and I couldn’t sleep, so I went into the living room where my mother had fallen asleep watching Turner Classic Movies. House of Wax was just coming on good, after the fire part. I was a little scared watching it, but I didn’t want to stop. But of course sleep caught up with me, and I drifted off after corpses started to move. I had to get a little older to find it again, but it was worth the wait. Not to mention much more. Instead of just reading one or two Edgar Allan Poe tales like in 3rd and 4th grade, we read a slew of them in 5th. And lo and behold, Vincent Price did a movie for every one of them. Ah, this is what horror love looks like. Such a cool guy. ^_~

Harlem Nights

Love this movie! My gosh, it is a classic. Where else could you find Redd Foxx and Richard Pryor together? Not to mention this like an all-star cast. Della Reese, Jasmine Guy, Eddie Murphy, etc… Course when I picked up my copy a few months ago it was placed in Wal-Mart’s, “unspoken black films”. But anyone would enjoy this movie. Give or take some language. As a child, my family cursed all the time so it was as natural to hear as breathing air. Course, all that weird ethnic jazz, society and studies be spewing out might play a role somewhere. But I doubt it. All I know is one of my favorite movies. I really like how Della Reese portrayed Vera, which gave birth to many of my fave lines from her.

Hyde with wavy hair & Drink It Down

What can I say; he looks so cute with his hair this way. Perfect for this video of vampy femme fatales. It looks so nice and soft, kind of like you want to reach out and pet it. Though, with the vampy theme going to Devil May Cry 4, one may think twice before reaching. But the song had all the nice gothic feels to it I believe. As Hyde-san is singing strong to this one. But all in all, I loved it so I had to snag the single for myself. ~~Still so many video ideas for it~~. X_X

G-chan’s battle scars

With filming of Bunraku we got to see random pics from it all. Though to a few, the more disturbing one was of Gackt’s hand with battle scars. Course, some may have a hand fetish, while others just fear for the loss of his musical talents, and then the one’s who genuinely care about him as a person because he is that. A living and breathing human being just like the rest of us. Though I didn’t see too much cause to freak out, they didn’t look that bad. ~~Geez, I had worst cuts on my legs from playing outside than that! Not to mention a certain 2in long incision in my palm.~~ But his wounds seem more like the kind you would look at, brush it off, clean it, and then bandage. Pat him on the bottom, tell him to be more careful, and send him on his way. Ok, a little maternal instinct coming out, but still. If you had no broken bones, no possible concussion, or gushing out gallons of blood, we were treated for wounds at home. The joys of country life. But I still love G-chan all the same.

The sad news of Estelle Getty didn't find me until last nights news cast. She died yesterday morning. I was in a state of shock but not as bad as George Carlin. I guess because I was aware of her fight with dementia. This is still saddening news to hear. I loved watching her on Golden Girls as Sophia. Come on now, how could you not love her wise cracks and wild schemes? Not to mention her role in Mannequin. It just seems all my favorite stars are dieing off now. Probably because quite a few are older stars, but still. They're just dropping.

Death of Seven Dirty Words

It's almost 5:47 in the morning now as the news is playing in the background. For the second time since about 4:00, I've been hit by an unexpected blow. Heart failure, George Carlin, two things that I didn't expect to hear in the same sentence. George Carlin has died from heart failure in the hospital, he had a history of heart problems, he was 71. Is this the same George Carlin I know and listened to as a kid and teen? Can't be. I was just watching one of his stand-ups on this special dvd offer for the Midnight Special show, offered by Guthy-Renker. It's a kick to the gut, totally unexpected. I don't know what to say. What the hell can I say?

RFK

Today we remember the life and death of RFK. I hadn't realized until I was watching the news that today was the anniversary of his assassination at the hands of Sirhan Sirhan, whose still is serving time. I think he would have made a great president if he had lived. There's no doubt that he would have won the election. I liked him, but I like the Kennedy family so it figures. Especially Jackie, my fashion diva. Though for Robert I usually remember him and the stand off with George Wallace in front of Alabama University when he was trying to keep the school from integrating. I love how he basically told him to move his ass out of the way and sent the national guard.

So today is a day of remember not a man's death, but his life.
